Socolofi Research was founded in 2010 in Cambridge by Michael Fishpool to offer a range of high-quality research and editorial services.

Michael is a writer and analyst with some 19 years of experience in the publishing industry. He kicked off his writing career in 1991 as a freelance journalist. In 2000, he founded the world's first website focussing solely on European defence and issues, later providing analytical PDF reports to leading international defence companies, organisations, academia, think-tanks and government agencies on a range of European defence issues, procurement and programmes. Prior to this he had a three-year stint as a managing editor writing and editing articles and business intelligence reports covering more than 200 countries. He is a graduate of an established UK university where he studied international politics.
